Chatr Mobile / Rogers Communications · dealer stores · Toronto · Oct 2022 – Aug 2025

It didn't happen overnight.

Three years on a Toronto store floor, through two Chatr dealers: from cold calls as a new student to supervising three stores.

  1. Sep 2022
    Landed in Toronto

Here for the PGDM at Humber College. The first job was on campus: students could only work twenty hours a week.

  2. Oct 2022
    Joined a Chatr dealer

Advance Solution, one of the dealer stores selling Chatr and Rogers. The first months were cold calls and reaching out to people, one conversation at a time.

  3. 2022 – 23
    Forty hours and a PGDM

The one year students were allowed to work full time. I clocked all forty hours, kept the grades (GPA 3.5/4) and finished the course.

  4. Oct 2023
    Made supervisor

One store first. Then a second. By the end, three stores and a team of five: daily revenue, training, shifts and the numbers behind them.

  5. Feb 2024
    The work permit

It came through after graduation, and the job stopped being a student job.

  6. May 2025
    The stores were sold

Immigration slowed, fewer newcomers walked in, and the owner sold the business. I moved to the next Chatr dealer, Wireless DNA, until August 2025.

The core of the job: new lines, every day.

What it taught me

In the last year, customers walking past the Tim Hortons next door would bring us a coffee on the way in. We never asked. In three years I never had to buy one.

Floor sales teaches you to read a person in the first ten seconds and to not waste theirs. Every nationality, every age. I still use that on every discovery call.

What was mine, and what was not
